Colours of Layouts
The layout of a website is the first thing a visitor sees, a first impression of the site. They may stay, or leave, because of the content, but it is the layout that they first notice, or at least, I do. (unless, of course, they are browsing with CSS turned off and whatnot)
There are certain layouts which make me go ‘Ooh!’ because of their usage of colour. They use nice colour combinations, and everything is placed nicely in the layout. I wanted to list some of the ones that I love (layouts using colours, I mean), so here they are, by order of site name:

Visit Antidecaf
I don’t really remember where I saw this site, but I love that it has a setting sort of theme, with the sky above ground, and the underground, with the content. I love layouts with themes. The colours work well here, too.

Visit BubblesSOC
I absolutely love this layout, and would love to steal it (I joke, I joke!). I generally like cutesy layouts, even though some don’t (I doubt anyone doesn’t like this design, though). I especially like the navigation and the different link hovers.

Visit Creative Burst
The colour combination Hannah used in this layout is really nice. It feels really….clean, with the tans and blues. I love the sidebar colour too.

Visit Chiklita
Wow. I love the illustration of the owl (although she did mention that she didn’t draw it), and the freshness of the colour scheme here. The green and brown makes it really….fresh. The footer is nice too, with more brown, although it wouldn’t fit in the screenshot.

Visit Jebelle
This one has a dark background with bright colourful accents. I love the background detail, and the navigation! Oh, how I love tabbed navigation. How ironic, that she’s going to be changing her layout soon.

Visit Rokkstar.nu
The first time I ever saw Cecelia’s site, I loved the layout (a different one at the time), with the outer space theme, and it inspired me to create that aquarium-themed layout. When she put up her next layout, (the one in the screenshot) I loved it too, because it’s so….spooky and mysterious, yet pretty, somehow.

Visit Appassionato
Rilla’s layout and choice of colours is just so pretty. The colours are also repeated in accents throughout the layout. I especially love the navigation and tree.
At the last minute, I realized that I forgot some, because these things just….escape me. Also, if I post screenshots of these layouts too, this post might be too long. I guess I must just link them.
- Lianko, by Vera - I love the red with the tan, and the chess pieces, although I’m not crazy about the title font.
- Ava Rae, by Amber - I like the artwork in the header, and she made pink and brown work!
- Qiann Yu, by Chien Yee - I love her current layout, with the dark background and lighter colours with it.
- Into The Rain, by Bobbi-Lee - The site is currently down, but I loved her layout before.
I hope you enjoyed that! Are there any more that I forgot? Feel free to make suggestions. By the way, I should edit the about page, shouldn’t I?
Welcome. You have reached Lemon Lime, the blog of Raina. When I'm not on the Internet, I enjoy knitting (although I'm just a beginner), reading, and doing other random things. I also love the rain, and watching movies. I sometimes relate to certain offbeat characters in movies and books. Oh, and I absolutely love

Aww thanks for the plug dear.
I feel that I have a dullish palette in comparison with the others up there though. I’ve grown sick of it that’s why.
I’ve always loved the layout at Antidecaf. It’s so outstanding and and colours are used so effectively. Colour matters so much! I’m glad we’re not on black+white text-based browsers!

its amazing how having a good design - even a simple one makes people want to come back.
You didn’t include yourself on the list - tut tut!

*beams* Thanks… now I feel rather disheartened about my current choice of colors I’m using for the new layout… gah! I still can’t believe I’m going for happy-go-lucky type of colors
Glad to know you like it.

@Rilla: I don’t think others are tired of looking at it, lol!
@Han: Not mine, but I did forget one….apricot13.org! I love the layout there too.
@Vera: I can’t wait for the new one! I’m sure it’ll be pretty as well.
@Cindy: I love yours too….and thanks.

Haha thanks for the plug
My current one is a collab work between Niki (stumpcrash.com) and I. Most of the idea is by Niki though, I just made more edits.
I love your layout too! The colours are just so soothing XD

Those are great layouts that you picked. If I’m just looking at color scheme and not design itself, Hannah’s layout (creative burst) would be my favorite.

I really like the way they make such amazing layouts and still incorporate them into their blogging systems! I find it so difficult to customise wordpress to do anything I want to do.
I love your layout, actually.

I love seeing sites (like the ones you’ve posted as well as yours ^^) that use really nice color schemes. I wish I was good at choosing layout colors; I usually rely on colorlovers xD.

Ooh, I like the concept and design at Antidecaf. It’s the only one of the sites you listed that I’ve never been to before (the rest are great, too, of course; I just thought I’d mention Antidecaf). My current favorite layout (design and color scheme) is darkfaerytale.com…I’ve actually liked her layouts for quite awhile. I love your color scheme too. You should have listed yourself.
